Lance Carlson was born in Long Beach, California. He studied drawing and painting at California State University, Long Beach, and is influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement of the 1950’s, jazz music, as well as his own local urban environment. Carlson’s paintings have been featured in both domestic and international exhibitions, and his work is included in collections in the United States and abroad. He currently lives and works in Long Beach.
